- Alternative Title
- 1993.12 Playing Field
- Description
- Natural deposits were found approximately 0.50m below the modern ground surface. A linear cut and a pit were interpreted as features of a Romano-British field system. A garden soil deposit below the modern turf was likely to have been the product of horticultural activity. The 1852 OS map show the area was with a horticultural establishment known as "The Nurseries".
