- Description
- Borehole cores demonstrated that at part of the site nearest to Coney Street approximately 4m of archaeological deposits survived, deepening to approximately 7m nearer the River Ouse. Small excavations showed pits which contained building demolition material which dated to the 16th/17th century, and may have been the result of demolition of structures when the extant 17th century buildings were constructed. Modern dumped material was found above these features.
