- Description
- The earliest deposits observed in these contractor's trenches were layers of cobbles adjacent to 50 Bootham. These may have represented part of a Roman road. Little dateable material was recovered from the trenches. Later cobble road surfaces were seen, of unknown but possible medieval date. Earlier modern road surfaces were also observed.
