- A desk top study identified the remains of medieval ridge and furrow ploughing in the area and the fact that they might mask evidence for prehistoric and Roman occupation. The ridge and furrow had been partially truncated by the former Derwent Valley Light Railway and the former electricity sub-station but otherwise survive relatively intact.
