Buckle with a trapezoidal frame made from strip with separate pin bar inserted into it. Typically part of horse trappings.
Beasts at Barley Hall: Horses were a key part of daily life. They were used for transport, waging war, and hunting. Horseshoes, spurs, fittings and buckles from horse tack have all been found in York.
