- Description
- Brandsby-type jug fragment.
- Beasts at Barley Hall: Decorative seals often featured animals and were used on pottery to display social, cultural or political messages. This Brandsby-type jug shows a lion and a bird, thought to represent power and everlasting life respectively. The combination of two motifs on one vessel could represent the union of two families.
