- Description
-
Partially complete, reconstructed Humber Ware cistern with green-yellow glaze.
The glaze on this cistern is only on the top third of the vessel but has been splashed or dripped further down the body in some areas. The neck has been decorated with bands of rouletting and the handle has been secured to the rim and body with large thumb impressions. The lower part of the body appears to be blackened with soot. - Excavation
