- Description
- Flat rectangular sheet metal box with square section rivet hole in each corner, each passing through small charred wood block. The tip of one rivet is hammered over to the side and the casts of two rounded rivet-head bases survive; rectangular hasp slot at end of one face, while at opposite end of same face, narrow loop projects, retaining double spiked loop with arms bent over at tips. Interior of the casing filled by fine, compacted debris - charcoal fragments, matrix grits and many small casts of iron strip and small bar fragments. Heavily corroded and burnt, removing one long side and most of one face.
