- Twelve 5m square and four 2m square pits were excavated. The cemetery of the medieval church of All Saints, Fishergate, was located, together with the fragmented remains of two cremation burials thought to belong to a cemetery of Roman date found in the Melbourne Street area during the 19th century. Various ditches of Roman date were also found. Evidence for Anglian and medieval occupation of the area had been truncated by 19th century cattle market construction.
