- Description
- The excavation recorded a probable ditch terminal believed to be of Roman date and a series of small stake and post-holes, a number of which were aligned in two rows parallel to a probably boundary ditch; these are thought to have been of medieval origin and to have continued in use in the post-medieval period. Much of the area of the trench had been truncated by a large quarry cut, believed to relate to the extraction of sand and/or clay, of post-medieval date.
