Nottingham Stoneware Mug Reconstructed base and body fragment of Nottingham Stoneware mug with brown glaze. The fragment has been decorated with diagonal lines with zigzag lines above and below, and grooved lines around the body. There is also the remains of the handle base. -

The mug has an oxidised fabric which has been high fired with minimum inclusions. There are straight lines across the underside of the base, suggesting that it has been taken off the wheel or drying surface when it was motionless. The mug has the remains of the base of two handles. -

The mug has an oxidised fabric which has been high fired with minimum inclusions. It is decorated with 3 crude palm motifs on each side. This is a Brears Type 3 mug. There are straight lines across the underside of the base, suggesting that it has been taken off the wheel or drying surface when it was motionless. The mug has one handle and the remains of a second handle. -

The mug has an oxidised fabric which has been high fired with minimum inclusions. It is decorated with crude acanthus and palms motifs. This mug is a Wrenthorpe type. -
Cistercian Ware Mug Reconstructed base and body fragment of a Cistercian Ware mug with mid brown glaze and applied pale yellow light clay decoration. The mug has an oxidised fabric which has been high fired with minimum inclusions. It has been crudely made with a heavy feel, and has a thin base (at the widest point the base is 1cm thick) but thick walls. This is possibly a Type 1 Posset mug. It is decorated with 3 pads of clay around a central pad, suggestive of a crude flower motif. The mug also has a pyramid stamp which suggests it is from Wrenthorpe. -

It is decorated with an applied 8 petalled flower with a tiny floral stamp in the centre. There are several oval pads of clay around the body. -
